The Singaporean passport has been classified as the strongest in the world for the first quarter of 2024, according to the most recent Visa Guide Passport Index.
The Visa Guide Passport Index is regarded as the premier passport power ranking system, assessing 199 passports based on the number of destinations to which their holders can travel without a prior visa.
Singapore topped the ranking with a score of 91.06, allowing its citizens visa-free/visa-on-arrival access to 158 countries worldwide.
Italy finished second with a score of 90.46, with Spain, France, and Germany rounding out the top five.
Having the strongest passport provides major travel freedoms and privileges.
Singaporean passport holders can access more countries without difficulty than any other nationality.
They can travel freely throughout Europe, North America, and Asia, either without a visa or with simplified electronic authorization.
During COVID-19, having a high-ranking passport was critical to preserving global mobility.
The index ranking will surely enhance Singapore’s reputation as a leading business and tourism hub in Southeast Asia following the pandemic.
For passport holders, the top spot translates into lower visa application expenses and shorter airport immigration lines.
It provides new opportunities for stress-free study, work, and leisure travel to more than 150 countries. Tourism businesses anticipate increasing tourist numbers as a result.
